As Gennady Golovkin prepares for Saturday’s showdown with Sergiy Derevyanchenko for the IBF middleweight crown, Lee Gormley, Colin Harris and Oliver McManus ponder how much the Kazakh superstar has left…

Based on his last few performances you could argue GGG still has plenty to give and he has the type of style that he can keep consistent for another couple of years. He overcame Danny Jacobs, could have beaten Canelo Alvarez twice and has blasted away Vanes Martirosyan and Steve Rolls as expected, so he's not exactly past it. This latest fight with Derevyanchenko should provide a good insight into where he is at in his career. If GGG can roll back the years and become the first to stop the tough Ukrainian then it would suggest he has a lot more in the tank. – Lee Gormley

GGG has enough left to get past Derevyanchenko... but not enough to get past Canelo. I actually think he may struggle for motivation if Canelo leaves middleweight permanently: does Golovkin really want to try and re-unify all the titles? He doesn't struggle to make weight so I wonder if he will grab a couple of middleweight titles and then retire after losing a third fight to Canelo in May 2021. – Colin Harris

GGG has enough left. He's still characteristically as dedicated and focused as he has been throughout his career - at least he appears to be. It depends on what he wants to achieve from here on in - if he's looking for redemption, justification, against Canelo then he'll likely come up short. If, however, he's happy to maraud as a belt-holder against similar opponents to Derevyanchenko then I still feel he's a class too good for those guys. – Oliver McManus
