It’s been a frustrating few months for United Promotions, who finally look to have their 27 February main event finalised.

WBA ranked super-welterweight Brandon Cook was originally expected to headline the card before a broken hand forced him out. Highly touted Ontario prospect Ryan Young was then tapped to headline the card, but it was announced that he, too, had suffered an injury in training camp and would be unable to perform.

A press release from United Promotions says that the headlining bout will now be light-heavyweight Tim Cronin (7-1-0) taking on Mexico’s Guillerme Herrera Campos (9-3-3) for the 27 February card at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

According to CanadianBoxiana.com, Cronin is the sixth ranked light-heavyweight in Canada, a ranking that could improve with an impressive victory on 27 February.

Co-headlining the card will be Toronto’s Samuel Vargas (23-2-1) against Mexico’s Edgar Ortega (16-3-0). Vargas has won three straight bouts since losing via fourth round TKO in a last-minute bout against Errol Spence Jr in a PBC broadcasted event.

Vargas is ranked the third best super-welterweight in Canada.

Tyler Asselstine (15-2) also looks to continue his comeback against Mexico’s Luis Gonzales. Asselstine lost a 10-round decision to Joel Diaz Jr in May 2014 and is looking to get his ascension up the rankings back on track.

While Asselstine is currently not ranked by CanadianBoxiana.com due to inactivity, he would be considered a top three featherweight.

Other fighters on the card include Aurey Cox (2-0-0), Mohammed Abedeen (3-0-1), Kane Heron (2-0-0) and Alex Ebanks (debuting), all of Ontario, Canada.
