Josh Warrington and Oleksandr Usyk are among the winners in the tenth annual Boxing Monthly magazine awards, which are revealed in our latest issue and here online...

Since 2009 Boxing Monthly magazine has announced annual award winners in four categories - British Fighter of the Year, Overseas Fighter of the Year, British Fighter of the Year and Overseas Fight of the Year.

For 2018, IBF featherweight champion Josh Warrington has been named our British Fighter of the Year, in recognition of his outstanding victories against Lee Selby and Carl Frampton. Warrington told BM: "Thank you very much. I'm very honoured, do I get a trophy? In all seriousness, 2018 was a massive year, I believe the boxing world now knows what I'm capable of doing, but I know myself I have more to bring, 2019 will be even bigger!"

In winning the award Warrington follows in the footsteps of boxers such as Carl Froch (four-time winner), Tyson Fury and the man he defeated, Carl Frampton.

BM's 2018 Overseas Fighter of the Year is unified cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, while our British Fight of the Year was the heavyweight clash between Dillian Whtye and Dereck Chisora, which Whyte won via 11th-round KO. Jarrett Hurd's 12-round split decision win against Erislandy Lara is our Overseas Fight of the Year for 2018.

The full results, including the top five in each category are discussed and revealed in our February issue, in shops and Appstore now.
