Thai dangerman Srisaket Sor Rungvisai toppled the consensus and Boxing Monthly pound-for-pound king Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez in a stunning WBC super flyweight title fight on Saturday night ...

Round 1: What a start! Srisaket starts fast and confident and towards the end of the round a right to Gonzalez's body sends the Nicaraguan down! Fell heavily but unclear how hurt he is. Certainly the P4P king is finding the Thai southpaw a handful. 10-8 Srisaket

Round 2: Gonzalez tries to get back into his rhythm, and does so in the latter part of the round but Srisaket's earlier work edges it for me. 10-9 Srisaket

Round 3: The two men rip into each other - some thrilling exchanges. Gonzalez is cut by his right eye by a clash of heads. Shades of Srisaket's fight vs Carlos Cuadras there! 10-9 Gonzalez

Round 4: An all-action round, both men's fists blurring with violent intent. Gonzalez edges it with three big head shots towards the end. 10-9 Gonzalez

Round 5: Srisaket starts the round better, with Gonzalez coming on late, which seems to be the pattern at the moment, making some of these rounds tough to score. The Thai looks a little weary on his stool, while Gonzalez's cut is bleeding and being worked on feverishly. 10-9 Gonzalez

Round 6: Big round for Gonzalez, who scores with dazzling flurries and also gains an extra advantage after the Thai is deducted a point for a head clash. That could be vital. 10-8 Gonzalez

Round 7: After looking very tired in the last round, Srisaket comes firing back and it is Gonzalez's chance to take a breather. 10-9 Srisaket

Round 8: Gonzalez scores with rapid combos and a big left. 10-9 Gonzalez

Round 9: A savage round, both men swinging and landing. Gonzalez's face covered in blood but no complaints from him, he just keeps going. Srisaket edges round by virtue of greater volume of scoring shots. 10-9 Srisaket

Round 10: Further brutal exchanges. Gonzalez's speed and determination are astonishing, Srisaket not as fast but just as willing and gutsy. 10-9 Gonzalez

Round 11: Both men now looking very tired - the Thai has never been in a fight this long before - his only previous involvement in full-distance decisions being a six-round win and a ten-round loss. However, I think he edged that stanza. 10-9 Srisaket

Round 12: Gonzalez rallies one last time, never stops punching in a great last round. 10-9 Gonzalez

Verdict: A brilliant fight. Gonzalez often did his better work later in the rounds and showed amazing heart to keep swinging, despite a bad cut. Whether you think he deserved the verdict or not, Srisaket deserves immense credit for refusing to be cowed by Gonzalez's reputation and also showing great heart and skill.

(Judges' scores 114-112, 114-112 to Srisaket and 113-113. BM online had it 114-112 to Gonzalez)
