Peter Fury, trainer
The highlight of my boxing year was ...
Hughie fighting for [a] world title.
The biggest frustration or disappointment of my boxing year was ...
Hughie being mugged off with judges that show [the] agendas in world boxing.
My hopes for 2018 are...
To bring Hughie much more determined to rip the world title that rightly should already be his.
The single thing that would most improve boxing is...
Promoters have too cosy a relationship with governing bodies.

Joe Gallagher, trainer
The highlight of my boxing year was ...
Liam Smith in both fights with Williams - to come from behind in the first fight with a bad cut, get a stoppage win then in rematch use his boxing ability [and] good jab. Paul Butler’s real classy performance vs Stuart Hall. Anthony Crolla [coming] back from [the Jorge] Linares loss straight into another big fight against Ricky Burns, and winning. Callum Smith back in the ring and in a good tournament, [it’s] going be a huge 2018 for him.
The biggest frustration or disappointment of my boxing year was ...
The WBC world title fight with Callum Smith vs [Anthony] Dirrell that never happened. [The] moving of dates venues etc lost Callum momentum.
My hopes for 2018 are...
Natasha Jonas wins a world title. She is very talented, unbelievably dedicated and to come back to the sport as a pro after retiring [is] a fantastic achievement. [Also] Anthony Crolla to get another world title shot and Hosea Burton to get [the] Frank Buglioni rematch.
The single thing that would most improve boxing is...
Banning drug cheats for life.

Sean Gibbons, promoter, manager, matchmaker
The highlight of my boxing year was ...
Jerwin Ancajas winning world title [fights] and Jose 'Bolivia' Uzcategui fights.
The biggest frustration or disappointment of my boxing year was ...
Orlando Salido 18 months and one fight and then losing to Mickey Roman.
My hopes for 2018 are...
That Jose 'Bolivia' Uzcategui knocks out Andre Dirrell for good this time! One more great fight for Orlando Salido!
The single thing that would most improve boxing is...
More promoters getting together to make the best fights for the fans!

Steve Goodwin, promoter. manager
The highlight of my boxing year was ...
Seeing the Goodwin team expand. More champions and seeing the development of our young guns. If I can single out one it would be the unsung Jumanne Camero winning the Southern Area title.
The biggest frustration or disappointment of my boxing year was ...
Leon McKenzie winning his title fight against Cello Renda before exhaustion caught up with him in the ninth round. Leon deserved to bow out of boxing a champion, bearing in mind I believe he should have been given the verdict against Jahmaine Smyle in an English title challenge previously.
My hopes for 2018 are...
To create more Goodwin Boxing champions and see more of our boxers compete in the home corner on televised promotions, which we have developed in 2017.
The single thing that would most improve boxing is...
Stopping the ludicrous nonsense of some boxers getting a top 15 world ranking with certain organisations for winning fights against poor opponents and, secondly, the outlawing of the secondary ticket market where fans are being exploited.

Mickey Helliet, promoter, manager
The highlight of my boxing year was ...
Darryll Williams winning the English Title, Asinia Byfield stopping Sam McNess on BT Sport & then KOing Gabor Gorbics quicker than the British Champ. (Liam Williams stopped Gorbics in the eighth round whereas Byfield did it within five).
The biggest frustration or disappointment of my boxing year was ...
Siar Ozgul: after winning the Southern Area Title on a Mayfair Sporting Club show in January a number of injuries and other problems have seen him sidelined.
My hopes for 2018 are...
More champions, more TV dates/ exposure for Hellraiser fighters.
The single thing that would most improve boxing is...
For amateurs and pros to box on the same shows and lessen the barriers between the two codes

Phil Jeffries, promoter
The highlight of my boxing year was ...
Lewis Ritson winning the British title.
The biggest frustration or disappointment of my boxing year was ...
Glenn Foot being well and truly robbed against Josh Leather.
My hopes for 2018 are...
Lewis Ritson and Tommy Ward to win [the] Lonsdale belt outright.
The single thing that would most improve boxing is...
If the away fighters got a fair crack of the whip off the ref and [judges].

Kevin Maree, trainer, promoter
The highlight of my boxing year was ...
The resurgence and interest in the heavyweight division, including the Joshua vs Klitschko fight that brought non-boxing fans to the sport.
The biggest frustration or disappointment of my boxing year was ...
Crowd violence returning to some of the shows, including someone being killed.
My hopes for 2018 are...
Tyson Fury gets his licence back and comes back fit and healthy.
The single thing that would most improve boxing is...
More competitive shows. Too many shows have become ten prospects beating ten journeymen. Promoters working together to ensure the best fights are made.

Steve Maylett, trainer
The highlight of my boxing year was ...
Fighting back at the Manchester Arena for Terry Flanagan’s 5th WBO world title defence after fighting in Liverpool and twice in Cardiff.
The biggest frustration or disappointment of my boxing year was ...
Terry only fighting once in 2017.
My hopes for 2018 are...
For Terry to become a two-weight world champ and for one of my other fighters to become British champ.
The single thing that would most improve boxing is...
Putting head-guards back in amateur boxing for seniors.

Billy Nelson, coach, manager, trainer
The highlight of my boxing year was ...
AJ’s great fight with Klitschko.
The biggest frustration or disappointment of my boxing year was ...
Not enough fights for my boxers, plus David Brophy’s loss to Rocky [Fielding]. David was in the form of his life going into that fight and made a simple mistake we’d worked ten weeks on not doing.
My hopes for 2018 are...
For Martin Bakole to show his immense class and be on the verge of a world title shot, David to rebuild, [Stephen] Simmons to win British [title].
The single thing that would most improve boxing is...
Promoters working together more, for the benefit of good domestic fights being made.
