Just days after a fight on the Sergey Kovalev-Jean Pascal undercard, Steven Butler’s return to the ring has already been scheduled.

Eye of the Tiger Management announced that Butler (14-0-1, 11 KOs) will return on the undercard of David Lemieux vs Jacob De La Rosa on 12 March in the co-main event. The fight takes place at the Olympia Theatre in Montreal.

Butler will fight for the IBF youth title at 154lbs against Sladjan Janjanin (13-0, 11 KOs).

"I am extremely happy to offer this opportunity to Steven,” said Eye of the Tiger Management president Camille Estephan in a press release. “Steven shows us an exceptional willingness to make the sacrifices necessary to reach the highest peaks in professional boxing. He has the heart of a champion, an exemplary attitude and undeniable talent that has been demonstrated from the start as well as an unbelievable performance this past weekend which offers very promising things for the future."

Butler won a unanimous decision on 30 January over Antonio Hoffman, but was pushed at times by the aggressive Hoffman. Butler is continuing to get himself back on track after a draw against Jamie Herrera in June 2015 that many felt he should have lost.

"I promise my fans another great fight and also the best of myself in my next performance,” added Butler. “I am already looking forward to the evening of 12 March. Having the chance to fight on the undercard for David Lemieux in a fight as significant as this one can lead me to the greatest honours one day. I promise to continually improve myself to get the most out of my potential and represent Quebec boxing with great pride."

The bout will be Butler’s first 10-round fight.
